The scarcity of drinkable water supplies is becoming a serious and troubling challenge to long-term development. This issue emphasises the urgency implementing rapid desalination options. However, capital-intensive process that requires significant amount energy, since it now mostly powered by fossil fuels across globe, has potential leave carbon footprint. In this light, transitioning green energy sources for necessity in today’s society. Humidification–dehumidification (HD) one most effective procedures consider distant places with modest fresh demands household agricultural demands. because minimal operational maintenance concerns. current article examines many kinds HD systems driven solar their key components. study established seawater system viable producing water, especially greenhouses dispersed demand. an technique eluting from concentrated brines, boosting production, minimising harmful environmental impact, benefitting ecosystems human services. packed bed humidifier commonly used kind system. Additionally, as compared indirect dehumidifier, direct dehumidifier improves performance According findings research, hybrid have greatest gain output ratio (GOR). Solar heating significantly increases productivity air heating. When combined heat pump, delivers optimal GOR at lowest cost per litre. conclusion that, even though humidification–dehumidification promising method decentralised small-scale production applications, needs additional improvement optimise terms economy ratio.
